Alone in an outdoor enclosure, lay the sick sea lion, struggling to remain optimistic about the future of his health and his freedom. In the wild he was a well-respected preacher, who spent his days raising the spirits of the other sea lions and seals who lived in the rookery. Now his own spirits needed lifting as a toxic encounter left him too weary to survive on his own, at least for now.
Yet, he found the strength to start a sermon and hoped that the others in neighboring enclosures would hear him. If the spirit moved them, they could join in to testify. Together they would give thanks for life and the opportunity to live wild and free in the ocean where they belonged.
